Adhesive Solutions for Access Flooring

Adhesives are recently being more commonly used within the construction trades, including that of the flooring industry. Installers can now reap the benefits of using specialist adhesives over traditional methods such as bolting. Following on from this growing popularity, the adhesive industry continually strives to provide the latest in adhesive developments to suit the many requirements of flooring contractors, particularly that of environmental issues.

Pioneers in the development of solvent-free adhesives, Chemique Adhesives and Sealants Ltd have devised a range of access flooring adhesives to meet the exacting needs of every installer.

The new Polyped2 HF a hazard free, solvent free, two component adhesive has been developed to meet exacting raised flooring applications in a new climate of environmental awareness.

By eliminating health and safety hazards for operatives, the new adhesive allows customers to meet current environmental legislations and reduces any disposal issues related to health and safety. Polyped2 HF also considerably reduces the need for storage space thanks to its carefully designed single package which holds two sections for easy mixing.

With no risk of site closures, Polyped2 HF can guarantee no downtime during the installation of access flooring due to hazardous substances.

“It is integral to the success of our customers that we are able to provide solutions to the ever-changing flooring requirements and health and safety legislation,” Said John Bellerby, Chemique Technical Manager “We believe that with the introduction of Polyped2 HF we can now offer installers of raised access flooring a hazard free solution to pedestal adhesive that meets all environmental issues, whilst providing an efficient and cost effective solution.”

Polyped1 is the one component moisture-curing pedestal adhesive equivalent to Chemique’s Polyped2 a specifically formulated adhesive for the bonding of metal pedestals to concrete when installing raised flooring systems. Designed utilising Chemique’s rigorous quality control procedures and experience of application techniques, Polyped1 has been developed to be ready straight form the bucket with no need for mixing.

Forming a strong and extremely flexible bond, the whole bucket of Polyped1 adhesive does not have to be used at the same time and instead can be stored and used at a later date, providing the container is tightly sealed, therefore providing a quicker and more cost-effective solution to installers of access flooring particularly for those who need to repair only a few pedestals at a time.

“Our Polyped product range is seen as an integral component in ensuring that the correct performance criteria for access flooring is achieved,” said Tony McMullen, Chemique’s Commercial Director “ Our new range ensures that users get the best product to meet their stringent adhesive requirements.”
